What I've Been Doing Lately...

Postby CJB » Wed May 11, 2011 6:03 am

Alternately titled: "Why I Don't Get to the Forum as Often as I Would Like to."

Now that I have amassed a variety of cell phone photos from my current job, I can provide
a quick run-down of what I've been doing lately.

I suppose I should start with the note I left on the schedule at my old job. Even though I
typed an official resignation letter which detailed my appreciation... I thought this note
might get a laugh by anyone familiar with the Maya calender. Now some are saying the
end of the world will be 5-21-11. Who knew!

I hauled my stuff to my new job on a rather ominous Saturday. It looks crappy
outside, but, unlike my last job, which was situated in an area we affectionately
called "the ghetto" this job is in a good area and includes a fairly secure perimeter.

Sadly, it now costs about $500 per month to commute to work, I thought a
tank icon on my GPS was appropriate.

I was only about ten minutes away from my last job, and worked a mere
40 hours most weeks. All those extra hours away from home has been the
biggest downside.

I do enjoy working on A/C though. Sometimes I even get to go to trade shows
and eat with the school buses and a/c parts.

How about working on a/c systems that hold 46 lbs of R134a. Note how the
plaque refers to R1342. They corrected the typo with some magic marker.
Das crazy germans!

And we get to work on just about everything else. From cars to semi's, fire trucks
to asphalt paving equipment. Never a dull moment.

I'm a/c as long as the season allows it. The bulk of our a/c work involves school buses.

In this photo, I'm happy to be working at the track in my hometown of Speedway.

Even if it means working on filthy stuff in tight quarters.

Oh, and ya, I had to take the service truck out on the track... I'm mean it's Indy right!

Image

O.k., I just made up all that stuff about working on A/C...
They actually just hired me to catch all the fish from the retention
pond so they don't get too big. :D

Even though all this fishing has taken most of my time from visiting the
A/C forum, It's still good to stop in and see all you guys again!

I'm sorry I've been a stranger for so long.
