Disposable Oil Cylinder

Postby 69-er » Thu Aug 11, 2011 3:35 pm

On a typical recovery/charging station, what does one do when it's time to replace the oil charging cylinder? My particular unit is a Snap-On ACT4100 (Sun MRC400) It's R-12 unit. The cylinder is out of stock at Snap-On. I would imagine due to the R-12 charge that is also in the cylinder.

Are there generic oil cylinders/chargers out there? It's an inverted cylinder with one schrader. Maybe the oil charge cans at the parts stores would work? Could I refill my cylinder with mineral oil with an R-12 charge? I wouldn't know what the ratio of oil to R-12 would be.
