No cold rear air

Postby tosssweep » Tue Jul 10, 2012 4:35 pm

i have a 1999 chevy express limited se conversion van. the conversion was done by explorer vans in warsaw, in. my air conditioner has worked fine (front/rear) up until late last summer when it wouldn't blow cold air (front or rear.) i ended up having to have new compressor put on it. since then, the air in the front works fine, but now the rear air is not cold, not even cool. the guy that installed the compressor didn't know why either. i am in a wheelchair and i have to ride in the back. it's hotter than hell back there. any ideas why it isn't working? any ideas or suggestions would be very much appreciated. jd

I don't really know but it may help to know why the first compressor failed and how much was done in the course of replacing it?

so take it back to the "guy" and let him check the rear expansion valve for debris that can clog it- no flow through rear means no cooling. How did front oriifice tube look? rear is a parallel path- will have the same result.
